RouteConverter doesn't need gpsbabel and is able to read and write the majority of its formats without gpsbabel.

Overall 18 out of 115 formats use gpsbabel.
Although RouteConverter contains a gpsbabel binary, the best approach is to install the gpsbabel from your Linux distribution.
RouteConverter does the following lookup to locate gpsbabel:
- the binary defined within the options dialog
- /usr/bin/gpsbabel
- the internal gpsbabel - compiled for IA32 on Ubuntu 8.04

If the gpsbabel contained in RouteConverter does not work for you, download and install one that fits to your system and configure to path to it within the options dialog.
